Feb 17, 2013 · v-force will probably suggest you start 2 sizes larger on the main jet and one size on the pilot the suggested sizes worked well on my sons yz250 then we raised the needle clip down one position, other than clip position you have to replace the main and pilot jets with different sizes jets.

- The second thing is the reeds. It seems hit and miss but I am would strongly recommend the V force 4. Chances are your factory reeds have gaps in them (like my last two KTM 2 strokes did). I had an 01 RMK stock that ran tight. I bought and istalled the vforce 3 reeds and slp single pipe after a couple years of hard mountain riding. When i bought it I had the holtzman engineering tempo-flow or "dial a jet" installed. I manually tweeked that between 3000 and 6000 feet about an 1/8 a turn on 0 to 10 degree days.
- The VForce reeds flow more air, and by doing so will require slightly richer jetting to maintain the same fuel/air ratios. In practice, the jetting chart on your clutch cover has a bit of "safety" margin built into the specs, so you could likely follow that chart and still be safe.
